Manager - Wealth Management Advisory

Manager, Wealth Management Advisory

The Manager role of Wealth Management (WM) is a key member of Treliant’s Wealth Management Service Area and responsible for working closely with the Director and Managing Director of Wealth Management to execute on the overall WM Service Area strategy, manage key engagements and develop staff.  In this role he/she will focus on leading key client initiatives that capture growth, generate operating leverage, address regulatory change, risk management and compliance requirements and ultimately enhance competitiveness.  The WM Service Area at Treliant includes businesses that serve the mass affluent through ultra-high net worth segments.  This includes retail and on-line brokerages, robo advisors, independent RIAs and broker dealers, regional and national wirehouses, private and trust banks as well as the platform and product providers that serve these businesses.  Preferred office locations are Washington, DC or NY. 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

Provide input to the development of the Wealth Management Service Area offering with a particular focus on risk, regulatory and compliance implications for the WM industry sector.

Support the pursuit of new clients and engagements through demonstrated subject matter expertise in the wealth management industry with a particular focus risk, regulatory and compliance implications for the sector.

Support the planning and management of client engagements to address the most pressing strategic, risk and regulatory issues facing the sector.    

Provide wealth management business, compliance and risk management subject matter expertise and core advisory/consulting skills to plan and develop the work products for engagements across key clients.

Provide strong program/project and people management skills.   

Develop and promote Treliant’s wealth management practice by marketing the firm’s wealth management services.

Support the development of thought leadership through developing content for conferences, speeches, and articles on timely wealth management topics.

Develop the day-to-day work products on client engagements with a focus on quality and comprehensive deliverables that exceed client expectations.

Qualifications:

5 + years’ experience demonstrating outstanding skills in a wealth management or retail brokerage setting.   

An understanding of the regulatory frameworks that apply to the wealth management and retail brokerage industries, particularly applicable SEC and FINRA regulations.   

Clarity in written and oral communication.

Prior experience in financial services consulting. 

Strong work ethic, confidence, humility, openness, kindness, and a commitment to learning and teaching others.

Ability to manage small teams and projects/work streams.

Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences.

Track record of success as a consultant, interfacing with clients and delivering wealth management advisory/consulting services.

Entrepreneurial spirit to help build and grow the business.

Excellent communication and prioritization skills.

Must be innovative and a self-starter with the ability to deliver projects/initiatives on deadline.  

Ability to manage a high volume of assignments with varying complexity and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with integrity and professionalism.

Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision-making and presentation skills. 

Willingness to travel as needed.

Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.

Masters or advanced degree preferred.
