Managing Director - Litigation Support

Location:  New York, Washington, D.C. or Dallas, TX

Treliant, LLC is looking for a Managing Director to join help lead our Litigation Support service area.

Overview

In this exciting leadership role, the Managing Director of Litigation Support will focus on driving the Litigation Support service offering at Treliant.  The Litigation Support group at Treliant advises banks, and partners with their law firms, to ensure that clients have ready access to the depth and breadth of expertise  needed for any given challenge. Our in-house legal talent is well-versed in the litigation process, and our multidisciplinary team of former bankers, compliance officers, and regulators provides the factual context for litigation in areas including consumer compliance, mortgage litigation,operational risk, money laundering, FinTech, cybersecurity, and financial markets conduct.

The Managing Director of Litigation Support will collaborate and represent Treliant’s other service lines (Regulatory Compliance and Risk, Global Financial Crimes Compliance, Cybersecurity, Mortgage Operations and Compliance, Financial Markets Conduct, Fair and Responsible Banking, FinTech, and Wealth Management) to clients, prospects, lawyers, and law firms across the country. The Managing Director will have substantial responsibility in overseeing client service delivery of solutions of litigation service offerings that typically include law firms, banks, financial services, corporate counsel and management of companies, government agencies, regulators, and boards.  The Managing Director will also focus on expert witness work directly or work with forensic accounting, investigations, and damages related calculation experts to support our clients in litigation-related matters.  S/he will use industry knowledge, experience, depth of technical knowledge, and strong collaborative expertise to add knowledge, value, and executive leadership. 

Specific capabilities and expectations include:

Continually building a robust pipeline (identifying business opportunities and prospects, developing and maintaining strong business relationships, growing opportunities, and sales)

Leading complicated large scale litigation related projects (document management and review, assessments, analysis, testifying, and reporting) 

Developing litigation competencies (methodologies, tools, and capabilities) 

Recruiting and overseeing talent that support the service offering

Developing business (e.g., thought-leadership, webinars, white papers, proposals, conferences, speaking engagements, podcasts, and branding)

Maintaining operational excellence (billing, collections, personnel management,scheduling, and related administrative responsibilities), while driving new business)

Ensuring product and service quality 

Reporting status and results of service area efforts and initiatives 
 

Major duties and responsibilities: 

Assist in building, developing, and managing a book of business to meet goals and objectives

Effectively manage client relationships to exceed client satisfaction

Heighten the Treliant brand by demonstrating the values of our firm

Collaborate with the Treliant Leadership team to accomplish these goals

Maintain the quality standards of excellence and best practices

Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and proven success in managing and motivating teams

Exercise the highest levels of leadership and integrity

Attract, develop, and retain talent, ensuring the continuous professional development of team is being met

Travel as needed 

 

Experience required: 

The Managing Director in Litigation Support must:

Have demonstrated experience running a successful Litigation Support practice

Have significant expertise in leading teams in a matrix organization that provide litigation support for large complex law suits and related projects – document review, evidentiary preparation, etc.

Be  recognized as an expert and have testified on numerous matters at deposition, trial, and arbitration

Have a proven successful track record in building a profitable service line in Litigation Services

Have demonstrated expertise in practice management, marketing, and thought leadership

Have previous experience in managing and directing the analysis related to complex, litigation, lost profits, commercial damages, damages, business disputes, and valuation disputes

Have additional experience with intellectual property infringement litigation, bankruptcy matters, and other related business matters are desired

Have a proven track record of success in exceeding client expectations

Have obtained recognition in professional organizations 

Desired Credentials:  Advanced degrees (JD or MBA) and at least 10 years’ experience in managing large scale complex litigation support
