Staff Accountant

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

Billing / Collections

  • Create and maintain client and matter information in accounting system
  • Prepare monthly billing information for project team review
  • Process, edit, and generate invoices for delivery to client
  • Research and respond to billing inquiries
  • Monitor status of accounts receivable and coordinate with senior management and clients to collect outstanding
    invoice

Payroll

  • Analyze, prepare, input, and process data for bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls
  • Update employee payroll information in ADP
  • Create and maintain employee records in accounting system

Accounts Payable

  • Review expense reports for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance to firm policies
  • Reconcile and enter monthly corporate credit card statement
  • Process vendor and contractor invoices
  • Manage expense reimbursement and travel agency systems
  • Create and maintain vendor profiles in accounting system
  • Assist in annual distribution of 1099s

Other Duties

  • Assist in processing journal entries for month end close
  • Create and run weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports
  • Maintain accounting files

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant or applicable work experience
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent planning, time management, and collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational skills in combination with the ability to multitask on a number of simultaneous tasks
  • Proactive with a forward-thinking attitude
