Treliant seeks Director - Cryptocurrency to join the Global Financial Crimes Compliance service line.  This is an ideal opportunity for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial-minded, independent thinker who is detail-oriented and able to work both independently and on a team in a fast paced environment.

Candidates should have knowledge and operational experience in design and use of distributed ledger and blockchain-based uses and working knowledge of stable asset coins, digital currency exchange operations, commercial payment applications, consumer purchases, crypto-asset institutional sales and trading, and other areas.  Candidates should also possess experience in implementing a compliance framework and controls in a cryptocurrency business, as well as have familiarity with state and national money transmitter registration and licensing requirements.     

To be successful, you will work on client teams with experienced consulting professionals, including recognized industry experts and former bank executives and regulators, to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses across a range of compliance and risk management consulting projects, presenting you with an opportunity to develop skills and deliver value across a range of disciplines. You should possess well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, robust data management capabilities and excellent written and oral communication skills.  A successful candidate has demonstrated proven experience within a legal, compliance, audit, or operations function.  Experience in the financial services industry is required; particularly in the areas of banking compliance, risk management or financial crimes.  

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct project teams to ensure effective coordination of client objectives and successful delivery of high-quality products
  • Provide leadership through detailed planning, organizing, coordinating and monitoring of project requirements against a determined timeline
  • Apply industry experience to meet or exceed client needs and expectations within required timelines and commitments
  • Partner with senior leadership in the creation and delivery of proposals / presentations for new and existing clients
  • Manage multiple concurrent engagements assessing client inherent risk, assessing compliance control design and effectiveness, making recommendations and assisting management of clients in the Cryptocurrency space
  • Oversee engagement economics and manage appropriate resources for efficient and effective engagement models
  • Liaise effectively with clients and collaborators and serve as the main contact for day-to day aspects of one or more engagements
  • Drive multiple, concurrent work streams, review specific deliverables and ensure that project deadlines are met
  • Maintain strong client relationships in an effort to drive business development and effectively share potential opportunities with the upper management team
  • Function as a team leader; encouraging the production of  high-quality final work products under strict deadlines 
  • Willingness to travel a minimum of 75%  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science degree
  • Overall, 12+ years of current or recent experience (5+ years with crypto/digital currency)in a relevant function such as legal, compliance, audit or operations
  • Working knowledge of the cryptocurrency market and related business and legal/regulatory risks
  • Excellent team and project management skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
